NetPoke is sort of like WinPopup on steroids.  It is used to cause another computer on the network to open up a browser window and display a web page. Actually, it can send the same message to multiple computers via broadcast-UDP.

Imagine 5,000 computers on a campus LAN all running along happily on a university campus in the Midwest.  When a tornado warning is announced, the administrator uses NetPoke to cause every computer on campus to display the same web page.  The web page announces there's a tornado approaching and tells users to seek shelter.  Audible siren .WAV files are played by the web page.  I'll bet it gets really noisy in there.

NetPoke is not-quite-ready for prime time.  I'm putting this download online for you to try.  Please feel free to use it for private use.  Commercial, educational and non-profit users will need to obtain a license.

Do NOT upload NetPoke to other file sharing systems.  You may link to this page instead.

Documentation is sparse right now.  Please read the README.TXT file and go from there.  Send any questions to NetPoke@phord.com
